Coronation to Coronation 2023

The Doggett's Coat and Badge Wager, believed to be the longest continuously running sporting event in the world, was founded in 1715 by Thomas Doggett, to commemorate the accession to the throne of George I. In 2023 to mark the coronation of King Charles III, the Wager was preceded by a pageant, including previous winners accompanied by boats from nine of London’s Livery Companies. Each boat flew the cypher of a monarch from King George I to King Charles III.
